WWII JAPANESE IN PHILIPPINES ANTI-SABOTAGE BROADSIDE
Rare Japanese WWII broadside in English distributed under the authority of 'The Commander of the Imperial Japanese Forces in the Philippines', and reading, in full: 'WARNING - Anybody who damages or attempts to damage in any way the telephone and telegraph wires power cables, railway equipments [sic], water pipes, roads, bridges and other military installations used by the Japanese Army and Navy shall be shot to death on the spot.' The notice is dated November 21, 1944. By this time, numerous effective resistance and guerilla groups were operating on Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and elsewhere, leaving only 12 of the 48 provinces of the Philippines under firm Japanese control.
