WAFFEN-SS TROPHY AWARDED TO HITLER LEIBSTANDARTE SOLDIER
First place shooting trophy awarded to UStuf. Gandig Rudolf of the SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler. The custom made cigarette case with velvet lining bears an applied design of an oak leaf wreath with four static swastikas, the 'SS' runes, crossed rifles, and the LAH insignia for the Leibstandarte-SS Adolf Hitler on the lid. Each foot of the box is two acorns and two oak leaves and has an engraved front panel. The engraving personally dedicates the box and dates it to 1936. The case is marked on the bottom, 'Ges. Gesch. Otto Gahr'. The case is engraved on the front '1. Shooting award m.d. K98 dedicated to SS LAH UStuf. Gandig Rudolf 20.10.36, Der Regimentstab.' 3.25 x 4 x 2.75 inches. Minor tarnishing, hinge with a slight bend, else good.
