THECA FIRST CLASS RELIC OF ST. GERARD MAJELLA
Saint Gerard Majella (1726-1755), lay brother of the Congregation of the Redeemer. In 1749, he joined the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer founded by Saint Alphonsus Liguori. He was beatified in 1893 by Pope Leo XIII and was canonized in 1904 by Pope Pius X. Round metal theca, with glass front, in metal church-like housing containing one relic of Saint Gerard Majella on a paper flower on cloth lining with handwritten label. 4 x 3 inches.
