French 800 Silver Box with Pure Silver Nuggets, First Half–Mid-20th Century - A rectangular French silver box with a hinged lid and fluted scalloped sides. The green felt-lined interior contains numerous irregular pure silver nuggets in various shapes and sizes. The box bears the French Minerva head, second-standard hallmark, indicating 800/1000 silver, together with a lozenge-shaped silversmith’s mark. The maker’s mark is worn and cannot be identified with certainty. France, apparently dating from the first half to the mid-20th century. Weight of box without the nuggets: 125 grams. Weight of pure silver nuggets: 85 grams. Total weight: 210 grams. Some nuggets display dark oxidation and patina; the darkened pieces are also silver. Box dimensions: 9×7 cm. Height: 2 cm. Used condition, with age-related wear, scratches, rubbing, patina and oxidation. Staining and wear to the interior lining. Please examine the photographs for condition
