Autograph Letter from Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer, AB"D of Paks, Addressed to Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlezinger
"Please mention my holy father, the ab”d of Paks, in your prayers and by the holy sites… his holy name [is] Zussman Eliezer ben Leah, for he is greatly suffering. Please also mention me, as I still have not merited offspring. That G-d should have mercy on me and heal all those who are brokenhearted…"
Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer (1860-1917), ab”d of Derecske and Paks, was the son of Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer, ab”d of Paks. He was a disciple of his illustrious father and the Shevet Sofer. Beginning in 1884, he served as ab”d of Derecske, and from 1903 he succeeded his father's position in Paks. He authored Likutei Sofer and Yalkut Sofer.
