Group of Letters from Rabbi Yehoshua Shilel, AB”D of Pezing and Author of “Minhagei Chassam Sofer”
Eight assorted interesting letters including responsa and Torah novellae, written by Rabbi Yehoshua Shilel, ab”d of Pezing.
The letters were written between the years 1930-1939, and are all addressed to Rabbi Baruch Kunshtat, dayan of Fulda.
The last letter was written in 1939 and sent from Pressburg.
Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Shilel (1886-1944) was the son of Rabbi Moshe Shmuel, who was a disciple of the Ksav Sofer and author of Shishim L’Elef, son of Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Shilel, dayan in Brád and Óbuda. He was a disciple of the Daas Sofer and served as the ab”d of Pezing. He authored Minhagei Chassam Sofer.
