of Tarnopol, Author of Responsa Chavatzeles Hasharon
Handwritten letter by the illustrious scholar, Rabbi Menachem Manish Babad of Tarnopol.
In his letter, Rabbi Menachim Manish discusses matters pertaining to his sefer Chavatzeles Hasharon Responsa.
Rabbi David Menachem Manish Babad (1868 - 1937) was the son of Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel of Střížov, son of Rabbi Chaim of Mikolinitz, brother of the Minchas Chinuch. He was Av Beis Din of Tarnopol and a prominent Galician rabbi, serving as president of the Galician Rabbis and chairman of the Rabbinic Assemblies in Krakow and Lvov. He participated as well in a rabbinical entourage to the Warsaw government, along with the Chofetz Chaim. Lithuanian rabbis were astounded by his great Torah stature and
the Admorim of Belz called him a "mezuzah" protecting East Galicia. His novellae were published in Chavatzeles Hasharon Responsa.
