An Exquisite Carved Ivory Netsuke of Daikoku, Signed RYUSHI, Meiji Period (1868-1912)

A humane and loveable Daikoku is one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune. As he takes one foot forward, on his back he carries a huge treasure bag that contains precious gifts of good fortune. The material of his kimono is defined by a subtle crosshatch. His ears are plump and elongated typical of bodhisattva.

Height: 5 cm

Condition: Beautifully and delicately incised and carved with details, with a golden patina.
