A GERMAN WWII NAVAL SHIPYARD ST. NAZARIE SLEEVE PATCH
Felt patch with silk embroidered eagle and "KRIEGSMARINEWERFT / ST. NAZAIRE." (Naval Shipyard / St. Nazaire) This was a major submarine base for the Kriegsmarine in Normandy, France, Saint-Nazaire. The port was the site of a major commando raid in March 1942 to cripple the largest dry dock in Western Europe as well.
