Signatures and ownership inscriptions of R. Shalom Philipsohn of Warsaw and his son R. Moshe Tzvi Hirsh Philipsohn in some volumes. Other ownership inscriptions and signatures, including that of R. Yitzchak David Guttfarb of Batei Wittenberg, Jerusalem.
Scholarly glosses and many references handwritten by R. Moshe Tzvi Philipsohn (1876-1956; member of the Haifa chief rabbinate), including some signed with his initials. Inscriptions by R. Moshe Tzvi attesting to the study of the Talmud following the Daf HaYomi program, in 1946-1954. Some emendations and inscriptions handwritten by R. Yitzchak David Guttfarb (1923-2004; known for his many halachic stringencies. He headed groups opposing Zionism and fought against government funding of Jewish educational institutions).
20 volumes. Approx. 32-33 cm. Foliation was not checked, yet the volumes appear to be complete. Dry paper. Overall good to good-fair condition. Stains, wear and tears. Paper repairs. Minor worming in some volumes. Original leather bindings, some of them damaged and lacking spine.
