Issue of “The Times”. London, November 9, 1917. English.
The Balfour Declaration appears on page 7, under the headline "Official Sympathy". An article headlined "The British Victory in Palestine" reviewing the operation of the British Army led by Edmond Allenby in Palestine appears on the same page.
The Balfour Declaration, which stated Britain's support for the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine, was signed by the British Foreign Minister, Arthur James Balfour, on November 2, 1917. One week later, on November 9, the declaration was first published in the press.
