This composition refers both to the German law and to Jewish law [Halakha], and was written to serve as a guide, and to promote tolerance toward the Jewish congregation through study and explanation of Halakhic rules.
A fine Engraved frontispiece divided into four vignettes depicting: Jewish marriage ceremony; deathbed scene (writing a will); financial dealings; and a death-sentence. [1] engraving; [10], 599 pp, 20 cm. Overall good condition. Stains. Minor tears at margins of frontispiece. Ex-library copy (Ex-libris label on verso of title page). Damaged binding, tears to margins and to spine.
