Comprehensive study of Syria and Eretz Israel, by Olfert Dapper (1639-1689) – Dutch author, historian and geographer. Accompanied by numerous etchings (most of them double or folded) and etchings interlocked in the text. Amongst them, maps and etchings portraying Syria, Damascus and Tripoli; maps of Eretz Israel, with the Tribes territories; maps and illustrations of Jerusalem, Mount of Olives and Beth Lehem; Description of Jaffa as viewed from the sea (see "Kedem" catalogue no. 18, item 47); scheme of the First Temple; and more. [4] leaves, 262 pp, [4] leaves, 581, [7] pp + 39 plates (most double or folded) + 30 etchings within the text. 32 cm. Good condition. Stains, tears and damages to some of the plates. Several plates and the last leaf were restored.
