Important Arab Documents - Hekdeshim (Consecrated Properties) in Jerusalem
1. Handwritten document with ink-stamps and signatures of jurists and clergymen of almost all Islamic sects; signed during a meeting of clergymen some of whom served as Mutwallis (managers of the Waqf property) in three major Hekdeshim in Jerusalem: Hekdesh Nebi David; Hekdesh Ahmad el-Dajani; Hekdesh El-Ruaq (property of Al Aqsa Mosque). The document includes a decision to appoint new Mutwallis for these three Hekdeshim. Leaf 51X42.5 cm. Heavy paper. Folded. Several stains and tears.
2. Document concerning Hekdesh on a very extensive area in Jerusalem which encompasses several villages. Apparently there is a claim concerning the Mutwallis of this area (the Hekdesh, its limits and villages as well as the Mutwalli's work are described in detail). Leaf 44X29.5 cm. Good condition. Folded. Several stains and tears.
