R. Mordechai Hager was appointed Vizhnitzer Rebbe following the death of his father, R. Chaim Meir Hager. Father to 14 children, he was a central and inspirational leader to tens of thousands of his Chassidic followers.
PROVENANCE: The late Dr. David Mehler, who received this Gartel as a gift, as a way to express thanks for services rendered.
