A technically perfect specimen of this iconic issue, modeled after the famous reduced diameter twenty dollar patterns in the National Numismatic Collection, Judd-1917. The butter-gold surfaces are entirely free of distractions, with much prooflike reflectivity in the fields. The design elements are fully struck and eye appeal is terrific. This coin is one of The few ms70 examples with the FIRST STRIKE certification at PCGS. I looked at Ebay and the FIRST STRIKE PCGS gets a substantial Premium. The one-ounce gold 2009 Ultra High Relief double eagle is listed among the 100 Greatest Modern Coins.
