Imrei Shefer. Hesped on the Chasam Sofer. First Edition. Pressburg 1840.
Lengthy hesped (eulogy) on the Chasam Sofer, by R. Naftali Banet (1789-1858), son of the famed R. Mordechai Banet. Partially in Hebrew and partially in Yiddish-Deutsch. Published a few months after the Chasam Sofer’s passing.
The passing of the Chasam Sofer in 1839 was followed with an intense period of mourning both among great Torah leaders of the generation as well as by the masses. In most communities in the region, public hespedim were held although not all were recorded for posterity.
With an additional page unrecorded by Vinograd.
Vinograd Pressburg 39. Schmidt press. 19, [3] pages. 21.5 cm. Moderate-fine condition. Some foxing and worming, at times affecting text. Modern binding.
Opening bid $150
