Four postcard photos of the groundbreaking Ceremony of Kibbutz Tirat Zvi in 1937. The photos show Rabbi Meir Bar Ilan gives a speech during the event. Stamped with the photographer's name on the back: Ernst Mayer, Haifa.
Tirat Zvi was the first Jewish religious settlement founded in Palestine by the religious Kibbutz Movement, as a “Wall and Tower” settlement. It was named after Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer, one of the fathers of the Zionist Movement and a leader of Hovevei Zion.
Dimensions: approximately 9X13 cm. Good condition, wear, writing in pencil on the back.
