Jacques Pouchain (French, 1925-2015) Art Pottery Wall Plaque
Hand-built clay wall plaque featuring six abstracted human forms with celebratory gestures and a neolithic-like style. Ground is a white glaze with brown tones; figures are green with red outlines. L'atelier Dieulefit inscribed to base, which is the city in which the artist's studio was located. Jacques Pouchain is an institutionally recognized painter, sculptor, and ceramicist and has been featured in many major art museums including the Museum of Modern Art of Paris. He is well known for creating utilitarian art objects and abstracted works.
