A division one Uniform Button
A medium size early 19th century NY Militia button Excelsior.
This early (about 1820 to 1832) button depicts the eagle and is less common than the one without the Excelsior word on it. It is number 10 in Dewey Alberts book on page 198. A nice button to add and use on a bird card that allows military buttons. Verbal's are always a nice addition.

Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918
Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above
