Federal Figured Walnut Tall Case Clock, Mid-Atlantic
A Federal figured walnut tall case clock, Mid-Atlantic, first quarter 19th century, the white painted arched dial with rolling moon phase, having Roman hours and Arabic minutes with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the twin train eight day movement striking on a bell, the broken arch bonnet top having cherry inlaid six-point stars to the swans neck terminals, ring turned column supports and tombstone shaped glass to either side, the well proportioned trunk with canted corners with lamb's tongue terminals above an ogee molded box base, raised on French bracket feet. The clock's backplate with several incised names and dates of when the clock was serviced throughout the 19th-21st century.
Dimensions:Height 95in; width 20 1/2in; depth 10 1/2in.
Condition:Tulip poplar secondary woods. Structurally sound. The case in an overall good restored condition, scattered marks, nicks, dings and small expected losses. The box base with a full vertical age crack/shrinkage and patch. The clock's bonnet top with two large cracks to the glass door. There is a vertical age crack to the left side of the clock's bonnet top. With case key, winding key, two weights and pendulum. The clock currently maintains power for a period of time. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
