Pennsylvania Walnut Splay Leg Tavern Table, 18th Century
A Pennsylvania Walnut Splay Leg Tavern Table, 18th Century. The rectangular overhanging top with thumb molded edge, raised on octagonal chamfered and block splay legs, joined by box stretchers. Mortise-and-tenon pinned construction throughout.
Dimensions: Height 27 1/2in; width 25 1/2in; depth 16 1/4in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition:
In an overall good state of preservation. Structurally sound. Honest wear throughout. Retaining an old dark surface. Having four hand-made slotted screws through the top. Appears to be full height. The top blocks of two legs with vertical age cracks, otherwise generally good condition.
