Unusual Pennsylvania Sheraton Walnut Splay Leg Stand
A Pennsylvania Sheraton Walnut Splay Leg Wash Stand, First Half 19th Century. The unusual scrolled galleried top with overhang above a single dovetailed splayed drawer, raised on ring and knob turned legs with octagonal center sections, joined by a circular scalloped under-tier and turned X-stretcher. Mortise-and-tenon, pinned construction. Pine secondary wood.
Dimensions: Height 35 3/4in; width 20in; depth 22 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface. The scrolled gallery with glued repairs to some elements. The platform under-tier with an age crack.
