ANTIQUE METTLACH VILLEROY & BOCH "DRINKERS ON MOUNT OLYMPUS" #2089 STONEWARE STEIN
An antique German Mettlach Villeroy & Boch etched pictoral stoneware stein, catalog #2089 named "Drinkers on Mount Olympus" with the poem "When Hebe comes to ask me 'Do you want Ambrosia?' / Well what do you take me for / Bring me Bavarian beer!". The stein is decorated with an illustration by Heinrich Schlitt (1849-1923). This stein features a Munich made pewter lid, and is 1/2 liter.
The lid may be a replacement, but it is unclear.
