ANTIQUE SALT-GLAZE & BLUE COBALT GERMAN STONEWARE STEINS BY MARZI & REMY & MORE
One Marzi & Remy #939 "Cats" figural stein with the whimsical poem "It is better with monkeys, tomcats and bears / than to operate all the time with oxen and donkeys" around the rims, with a pewter lid variation in 1/2 liter; and one Reinhold Merkelbach #9001A "Stag" incised design 1 liter stein with a pewter lid.
The steins are in excellent condition; however, the pewter lid on the Marzi & Remy is slightly loose and the patina shows minor surface scratches.
