South India, 19th/20th century, carved wood, polychrome painted and partially gold-bronzed, in the architectural frame central depiction of Subrahmanya, the son of Shiva and Parvati, in typical six-headed representation with spear, depicted on his peacock, he symbolises the power that conquers the negative, the handle in the shape of Adishesha, the world serpent, partly old repaired, traces of age, h 70 cm.
