Cameroon grassland, 1st half 20th c., carved wood, raffia and cotton with sewn-on coloured glass beads, abstract elephant head, crowned by a plastic wild cat, according to the opinion of the grassland dwellers the animals had a hierarchical relation to each other, comparable to the hierarchy in the human world, the elephant was related to the king, it was considered - together with the leopard and the python - as symbolic animal of dominance, traces of age, minor losses of substance, h approx. 50 cm.
