Birth Scene
The mother, weakened from childbirth, in a bed with canopy and in the foreground four women and a couple of putti, bathing the newborn, copperplate engraving, origin of the printing plate c. 1580, inscribed below the depiction "Romae Claudis Duchetti...." (Duchetti was a publisher in Venice and Rome) and furthermore "Ioannes Orlandi formis rome 1642" (Johannes Orlandus owner of the printing plates 1642), paper browned and partly stained, traces of glue on the reverse, partly backed tears, dimensions of the depiction without lettering approx. 26.8 x 19.4 cm, dimensions of the sheet approx. 29 x 19.6 cm.
