Künstlerinfo: eigentlich Ernst Heinrich Barlach, bedeut. dt. Bildhauer, Graphiker und Schriftsteller (1870 Wedel bis 1938 Rostock), Jugend in Ratzeburg, ab 1880 Schüler der Gewerbeschule Hamburg bei Thiele und Woldemar, ab 1891 Studium an der Akademie in Dresden, ab 1892 Meisterschüler bei Diez, 1895-96 an der Academie Julian Paris, 1897-99 Kunstgewerbeschule Hamburg, ab 1900 an der Akademie Berlin, ab 1904 Lehrer an der Keramischen Fachschule Höhr, Mitglied und zeitweise Vorstand der Berliner Sezession und der "Freien Sezession Berlin", ab 1919 Mitglied der Preußischen Akademie der Künste, 1933-45 als entartet diffamiert und mit Ausstellungsverbot belegt, tätig unter anderem in Berlin, Paris, Hamburg und Güstrow, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, AKL, Dressler und Wikipedia.
