Daniel Ihly, Kinderpaar am Ufer
Brustbildnis zweier Kinder in trauter Zweisamkeit, vor Pergola mit blühenden Ackerwinden, am Ufer eines breiten Flusses bzw. Sees, poesievolle Portraitmalerei in fein abgestimmter Farbigkeit, auch wenn Ihly zeitlebens die Malprinzipien seines Lehrers, des "Schweizer Corots" Barthélemy Menn beherzigte, zeigt vorliegendes Motiv des Geschwisterpaares deutliche Einflüsse des Symbolismus und der Portraitkunst seines Freundes Ferdinand Hodler, qualitätvolles Aquarell des als bedeutenden Vertreter der Genfer Schule der Paysage intime geltenden Malers, links unten signiert und datiert "D. Ihly [19]03", etwas fleckig, hinter Glas gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 50,5 x 70,5 cm. Chest portrait of two children in intimate togetherness, in front of a pergola with flowering field bindweed, on the bank of a wide river or lake. Poetic portrait painting in finely tuned colours, even though Ihly took the painting principles of his teacher, the "Swiss Corot" Barthélemy Menn, to heart throughout his life, this motif of the brother and sister shows clear influences of Symbolism and the portrait art of his friend Ferdinand Hodler, high-quality watercolour by the painter who is regarded as an important representative of the Geneva School of Paysage intime, signed and dated on the lower left "D. Ihly [19]03", somewhat stained, framed behind glass, folding dimensions approx. 50.5 x 70.5 cm.
