am Fuße einer Eiche in weiter Sommerlandschaft aufgelegte Jagdstrecke aus Fasan, Schnepfe, Eisvogel, Stiglitz, Rebhuhn und Grünspecht, das in trefflicher Stofflichkeit erfasste Genrebild besticht durch seine naturalistische Maltechnik und exquisite Farbigkeit, hierzu schreibt das Künstlerlexikon Nagler (1835) "... die täuschende Wahrheit seiner Thiere und Früchte [wird] sehr gerühmt. ...", Öl auf Leinwand und sekundären Keilrahmen, 2. Hälfte 18. Jh., unsigniert, laut Vorbesitzerangabe handelt es sich um ein Gemälde von Jacob Samuel Beck, Craquelure, doubliert, restauriert, etwas restaurierungsbedürftig, ungerahmt, Maße ca. 66,5 x 81,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: dt. Portrait-, Tier-, Stilllebenmaler und Kopist (1715 Erfurt bis 1778 Erfurt), Sohn des wohlhabenden Erfurter „Ratsverwandters“ und „Polizei-Commissarius“ Georg Konrad Beck, schuf unter anderem Portraits von Herzog Karl Alexander von Württemberg-Winnental, dem Fürsten Leopold I. von Anhalt-Dessau und dem Herzog Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, fertigte zwischen 1733-48 im Auftrag des Grafen Gustav Adolf von Gotter die Innendekorationen des Schlosses Molsdorf bei Erfurt, schuf 1736-76 mit anderen Künstlern einen Totentanzzyklus für das Erfurter Augustinerkloster, 1752 Ernennung zum "Hof- und Kabinettsmaler" des Herzogs Karl August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, erreichte Berühmtheit durch seine fein beobachteten Tierbilder und Früchtestillleben, um 1777 wohl Aufenthalt im lettischen Jelgava [dt.: Mitau], Quelle: Thieme-Becker, AKL, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Nagler, Meusels Künstlerlexikon und Wikipedia.

At the foot of an oak tree in a wide summer landscape, a hunting scene of pheasant, woodcock, kingfisher, stiglitz, partridge and green woodpecker, the genre picture, captured in excellent materiality, captivates by its naturalistic painting technique and exquisite colourfulness, on this the artist's encyclopaedia Nagler (1835) writes ".... the deceptive truth of its animals and fruits [is] highly praised. ...", oil on canvas and secondary stretcher, 2nd half of the 18th century, unsigned, according to the previous owner it is a painting by Jacob Samuel Beck, craquelure, mounted, restored, somewhat in need of restoration, unframed, dimensions approx. 66.5 x 81.5 cm. Artist's impression: German portrait, animal and still life painter and copyist (1715 Erfurt to 1778 Erfurt), son of the wealthy Erfurt "Ratsverwandter" and "Polizei-Commissarius" Georg Konrad Beck, created among others portraits of Duke Karl Alexander of Württemberg-Winnental, Prince Leopold I. of Anhalt-Dessau and Duke Carl August of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, produced the interior decorations of Molsdorf Castle near Erfurt between 1733-48 on behalf of Count Gustav Adolf von Gotter, created a death dance cycle for the Erfurt Augustinian monastery in 1736-76 together with other artists, 1752 appointed "court and cabinet painter" of Duke Karl August of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, became famous for his finely observed animal paintings and fruit still lifes, around 1777 probably stayed in Jelgava [dt.Source: Thieme-Becker, AKL, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Nagler, Meusels Künstlerlexikon and Wikipedia.
