Halbfigurenbildnis eines eleganten jungen Mannes mit breitem Mühlsteinkragen, Ordenskette mit Malteserkreuz über schwarzem Wams und schwarzem Cape mit appliziertem Malteserkreuz im Interieur, pastose Malerei, Öl auf gesperrter Holzplatte, rückseitig auf der Holztafel teils undeutliche alte italienische Annotation und Datierung "Cau ... Vanai del. - Sig. [Signóre - dt.: Edelmann] Simone Lippi 1591", sowie alte Nummer "No. 79" und neuzeitlicher Zettel mit ungeprüfter Zuschreibung "Passignano, Domenico 1560-1636 »Junger Edelmann mit Malteserkreuz« ...", Malgrund verzogen und partiell eingerissen, alte Retuschen, Farbstauchungen, holzwurmstichig, ein alter Sperrriegel fehlt, in neuerer vergoldeter Holzleiste mit Messingrahmenschild "Domenico Passignano 1558-1638" gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 85,5 x 66,5 cm.

Half-length portrait of an elegant young man with broad millstone collar, medal necklace with Maltese cross over black doublet and black cape with applied Maltese cross in the interior, impasto painting, oil on blocked wooden panel, partly indistinct old Italian annotation and date "Cau ... Vanai del. - Sig. [Signóre - engl.: Nobleman] Simone Lippi 1591", as well as an old number "No. 79" and a modern label with an unverified attribution "Passignano, Domenico 1560-1636 "Young Nobleman with Maltese Cross" ...", the painting ground warped and partially torn, old retouches, dips in colour, woodworm marks, one old locking bar missing, framed in a newer gilt wooden frame with brass frame label "Domenico Passignano 1558-1638", dimensions approx. 85.5 x 66.5 cm.
