spätsommerliche Küstenlandschaft mit Fischern am Strand bei Vitt, im Hintergrund die steil aufragenden Kreidefelsen der nördlichen Steilküste von Rügen unter dramatisch bewölkten Himmel, bei genauer Betrachtung erkennt man auf dem Kap den ersten, 1826-27 errichteten, "Schinkelturm" genannten Leuchtturm mit Leuchtturmwärterhaus, gering pastose Landschaftsmalerei, Öl auf Leinwand, links unten signiert und datiert "Edm. Dittmann [18]63", rückseitig fragmentarisches Etikett einer Verlosung mit unleserlichen handschriftlichen Annotationen, darunter in Blei bezeichnet "Arcona" bzw. in Tusche "Cap Arkona auf Rügen", Craquelure, wenige Kratzer, gering restaurierungsbedürftig, schön im originalen Goldstuckrahmen gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 41,5 x 56,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: dt. Landschafts-, Genre- und Stilllebenmaler (erwähnt 1856-1895), beschickte 1856-76 die Berliner Akademieausstellung, der kränkliche Künstler stellte bis 1895 regelmäßig Anträge auf Unterstützung aus dem Ausstellungsfonds der Berliner Akademie, tätig in Berlin, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Bénézit, Akten der königlichen Akademie der Künste Berlin und Internet.

Summery coastal landscape with fishermen on the beach near Vitt, in the background the steeply rising chalk cliffs of the northern cliffs of Rügen under a dramatically cloudy sky, on closer inspection one can recognise the first lighthouse with lighthouse keeper's house on the cape, built in 1826-27 and called "Schinkel Tower", slightly impasto landscape painting, oil on canvas, signed and dated "Edm. Dittmann [18]63", fragmentary label of a raffle with illegible handwritten annotations on the reverse, inscribed "Arcona" in lead and "Cap Arkona auf Rügen" in India ink below, craquelure, few scratches, minor restoration, beautifully framed in the original gilt stucco frame, rebated dimensions approx. 41.5 x 56.5 cm. Artist information: German landscape, genre and still life painter (mentioned 1856-1895), participated in the Berlin Academy exhibition 1856-76, the ailing artist regularly applied for support from the exhibition fund of the Berlin Academy until 1895, active in Berlin, source: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Bénézit, Akten der königlichen Akademie der Künste Berlin and Internet.
