Pair of giant Meiping dragon vases XuandeChina, Jingdezhen, probably Republic period (1912-1949), porcelain shoulder vases with broad shoulders on a slender foot, cobalt blue underglaze decoration of five-clawed imperial dragons in a cloudy sky above roaring sea waves, modelled on palace vases of the Xuande era (1425-1435), the shoulder marked DAMING XUANDE NIANZHI (produced in the years of the Xuande emperor of the great Ming dynasty), provenance: Günther Stelly Collection, Berlin, each h 94 cm, d 50 cm.
