An Interesting Quality 1801 Drawing-Watercolor
French, English or perhaps early American, a fine mixed media indoor scene. Signed lower right, J. S., repeated on reverse with 1801. With graphite, bistro and watercolors, a family of boy child, grandmother and mother seated at a three legged table, the elders at cards, a young man from outside has entered and guides the mother's play in armouris manner. The cat stays by the grandmother, the bird feeds from its perch above her. Nice condition, 12.5" x 10".
