Basic Book: Tiv Gittin - First Edition Zholkva, 1844

Sefer Chidushei Tiv Gittin, novellae on the entire Masechet Gittin by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Heller Av Beit Din and Rosh Yeshiva of several communities, see below. 


First Edition - Zholkva, 1844. Censor year: 1839. [1], 78 leaves. There are copies that include several leaves at the end with novellae by the author's son. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod, p. 37 of the additions. 


Fine, wide margins. The title page and last leaf are professionally restored. Loose binding. Some leaves on bluish paper. Color edges. Some minor stains. Good overall condition. 


The Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Heller (Rabbi Hirsch Charif; 1776-1835) the son of Rabbi Aryeh Leib. Served as Av Beit Din of several towns. Later he moved to Ungvar, where he headed a large yeshiva with many renowned students including Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried - author of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch. The Chatam Sofer said of Rabbeinu: איש גאון גדול ומופת הדור בא לארצינו וברוכים הם האנשים אשר יזכו בו", After Rabbi Zvi Charif's passing, the Chatam Sofer married his wife.
