מכתב הגאון רבי דוד שפרבר הרב מבראשוב לבנו, המכתב נכתב בסוף ימיו של רבי דוד שפרבר, בעת מחלת האחרונה, הדבר ניכר מהכתב הקשה והרועד, וכן מתוכן המכתב בו כותב רבי דוד לבנו שקיבל אגרות בנו במועדם אבל לצערי לא תישאנו ידי תושיה וכו' כי כבר נלאיתי נשוא.
בסיום המכתב יש מכתב של ר' ברוך בנו של רבי דוד שפרבר לאחיו, ובו כותב לו בענינים פרטים.
Rabbi David Sperber, known as the ‘Gaon of Brashov ’ was a prominent Romanian rabbi and respondent who lived prior to the Holocaust. He learned Torah by Rabbi Meir Arik, and Chassidus by the Admor Rabbi Moshe Hager of Kossov. In later years, the Admor appointed him to edit his important sefer "Leket Ani." Rabbi David immigrated to Eretz Yisrael where he served as a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah until his passing in 1962.
