The Vilna Gaon Esther Scroll On Parchment Poland Ca1800
Purim Esther Scroll Megillah On Parchment, Poland, Circa 1800, Judaica.
Hand written by a scribe.
Square Ashkenazi Hebrew script (Arizal).
Tagin on the letters שעטנז גץ and on the letter בדק חיה.
The scroll was written according to the Vilna Gaon method: without dedicating an entire column to the ten sons of Aman (see pictures).
Petuchot and Setumot according to Rambam and Rosh.
No wooden roller.
21 lines.
Parchment length: 17cm / 6.7in.
Text height: 14cm / 5.5in.
Few erased letters, well readable, minor holes and stains at the begining of the scroll.
