Dr. Philip Gould a distinguished Professor of Chinese Art at Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College, was in his personal life a passionate collector of tribal art and artifacts from around the world. This auction features many pieces from Dr. Gould's collection of African textiles and artifacts that he curated for numerous museum and gallery exhibitions. The collection includes fine examples of Kuba Textiles and Kente Textiles. Also featured are Masks, Carved Figures, Protective Fetishes, Cast Bronze Objects, Currency Cuffs and Hoes, Iron Currency, Hatchets, Ceremonial Swords, Throwing Knives, Terra Cotta Figures and Vessels.
