Dr. Gould's interest in Guatemalan textiles shows the hyper-regionality of back-strap loom weaving techniques and symbolic designs. Within this context the vibrancy of the Mayan culture comes through. The collection features ornate and brightly colored Huipile (tunics), Faja (sashes/belts), Corte (skirts), Tzute (wraps), and Tocoyal/Cintas (headbands).
