Rare: Sefer Shaarei Dura, Zaslaw 1807. The Personal Copy of R. Akiva Yosef Schlesinger. A Magnificent Copy Printed on Blue Paper.

Sefer Shaarei Durah was written by R. Yitzchak of Dura, and was first printed in Krakow in 1594. His work is perhaps the most fundamental work pertaining to the laws of Shechitah and Treifos.

Presented here is a complete copy of Sefer Shaarei Dura, Zaslaw 1807. On the title page, the printer lists the many attributes to his edition. One of which was to add the annotations of the Maharshal to this edition, which were previously printed in a separate volume, and very difficult to find. The printer boasts that this idea is "thanks to the Holy R. Levi Yitzchak of Barditchev", and adds that "he found us the Peirush of Maharshal".

Printed with the special approbation of R. Levi Yitzchak of Barditchev, R. David Zvi of Kremnitz, and R. Meshulam Feivush, Dayan of Zaslaw.

Approbations of R. David Zvi of Kremnitz are quite rare. R. David Zvi was born to his father R. Aryeh Leibush circa 1743. It is told his father did not have any children, however he merited the birth of his only son due to a blessing from the Holy Ba'al Shem Tov, to whom he was very close. The Ba'al Shem Tov sereved as Sandek at his Bris, and chose his name. He was from the greatest students of the Holy Maggid of Zloczow, and was the father-in-law of R. Nachman of Breslov.

Various Ownership Inscriptions on tile page; With Ownership stamps of R. Akiva Yosef Schlesinger Author of 'Lev Ha'Ivri', and his son, R. Shimon Schlesinger. A short marginal note is found on leaf 77.

In excellent condition. Printed on high-quality, thick blue paper. Some pages turn from blue to green. New, modern binding.

Extremely rare. This edition is one of only 6 Hebrew books ever to be printed at Zaslaw.

2, [2], 84 leaves.
