Boy Robbing the Bird's Nest Iron Mechanical Bank
Made by the J. & E. Stevens Company of Cromwell, Ct. - Circa 1897. A boy has come upon a bird's nest in the low-lying branch of a tree. Curious, he shimmies up the vines attached to the tree's bark and begins to edge his way out onto the tree limb. He seems determined to discover what is in the nest beyond his grasp. Suddenly, his weight causes the branch to snap, toppling both him and the nest to the ground.
