Circus - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank
Made by Shepard Hardware Company. Buffalo, New York - Circa Late 1880's. Finding an intact and un-repaired Circus Bank is a rare and unusual event. With its broad surface areas and vigorous action, the Circus Bank is often found in poor condition. To set the bank in motion, the operator must turn a crank. Then, watch the clown in his cart as he circles the sawdust of the circus ring. The horse gallops up and down three times during this revolution. The clown's left arm raises up as he approaches the coin laid down for deposit. Mechanically considered, the Circus Bank is one of the most complex and ingenious toy banks ever devised.
Condition: Excellent Plus with Vivid Color.
