Initiating Bank - 1st Degree - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank
Made by Mechanical Novelty Works. New Britain, Connecticut - Early 1880's. Three unlikely companions, a goat, a black male youth and a frog, comprise the visual imagery of this version of the Initiating Bank. In this iteration, the base has been expanded to accommodate three separately designed moving figures. Here, the goat butts the boy in the seat of his pants, causing him to lean forward and deposit your coins into the frog's mouth. This is a very nice example without any repairs and an intact baseplate.
Condition: Excellent Condition. One half of goats beard is missing.
