Rare Tally-Ho Stagecoach - Cast Iron Toy
Made by Carpenter Toy Company. New York - Early 1880's - 27" Long. Collectors of fancy carriage cast iron toys view Carpenter's tally-ho coach as one of the most significant "holy grails" of the hobby. Some of its essential features include four dramatically galloping horses; a driver, five passengers and a trumpeting coachman announcing arrival at the depot.
Condition: Presents as Pristine. There is some well-made restoration to this toy and the figures are expertly replaced. Additionally, one white horse is missing his leg below the knee. Nonetheless, the toy looks terrific on the shelf.
