United States CSA Confederate States of America, the state of Mississippi note #268567 issued May 1st 1862, with a Native American to the left side and a cotton field with two slaves on the right. Second note a state of Louisiana fifty note bill #2043 Shreveport March 10th 1863

The Confederate government issued its own currency 1861-1865 as a means to finance the war effort and stabilize the Southern economy during the Civil War. The South faced severe economic challenges due to the loss of access to Northern markets and financial institutions. Size of longest 7 1/8" L
