Holyland Ochre Painted Handled Pouring Vessel
Eastern Mediterranean, circa 1500-500 BC. Uniquely shaped Hellenistic pottery vessel with short protruding cylindrical spout on the body, raised disc pedestal foot and high arched handle. Size
Ancient Judeans did not have alcohol based perfumes but rather oil based perfumes. The unguents were instrumental in their daily lives and can be found as offerings in temples and tombs.
ex-prominent NYC private collector Daryl Kulok, now deceased believed to be acquired 2000s in Holyland.
Condition: Well preserved and intact.
