Tall Singiti Male Figure, Wood Carved
Luba / Hemba African wood carved Singiti figure. Not representative of actual people these figures reflect on lineage and family. Carved from a single piece of wood, the head is detailed with beard like details, almond slit eyes, and banded headdress. He stands with his hands on his distended abdomen, in a squat stance nude with his phallus exposed. Size 22 1/2" H
Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
Condition: As-is condition with minor losses and wear commensurate with age.
