Sumatran Bade-bade Knife
Indonesia, Aceh, Sumatran Bade-bade knife with scabbard late 19th century. Handle in a unusual sickle like head carved from wood with mounted base in gilt and turned roping decoration. Blade is slightly curved with remnants of gilt decoration throughout. Scabbard carved in wood with similar roped and gilt decoration inset with stone and a bone finial piece. Size 14" L, blade 8"
Condition: Worn with patina throughout.
