Papua New Guinea Painted Female Ancestor Figure
Beautifully carved and detailed PNG ancestor female, with braided fibers and cowrie shells, polychrome pigment, white orange and black. Bird or lizard like figure as a headdress wraps around her head. Size of longest section 13 3/4" L
Condition: Lower section missing from figure, would have been a standing figure with legs. Loss to bird beak, losses to fibers expected with age.
